Our First Baby Shower in Douglas

Neil and I had our first baby shower in Douglas this past weekend. I never knew how fun opening baby gifts would be! Neil's sisters, sister-in-laws, and mom hosted the shower along with many friends! We took a lot of pictures, but here are a few so that you get the point.

I always have loved diaper cakes, but I didn't know anyone who knew how to make them. I was so excited to see a diaper cake at the shower. Then I found out that my sister-in-law, Leah, made it. She promised to teach me how to make them! It was beautiful!

This is a few of the gifts we received. Addison got clothes, diapers, wipes, blankets, a crib pad and sheets, bath stuff, a few toys, and much more! Neil's mom (Granny Wilkerson) bought our crib mattress and baby book. We loved everything!

This was a blanket made by Miss Fran for Addison that has her name on it! It is beautiful! Neil's Aunt Nancy also made a blanket for her. She is already spoiled!

Here are the Wilkerson girls! Leah (N's sister), Renee (N's sister), Ame(SIL), myself, Marie (SIL), and Diann (N's mom). I can't thank everyone enough for your kindness! We sure do love you and can't wait to bring Addison to visit soon!!! Only SIX more weeks!

Eleven and Counting...

I forgot my most exciting news...we have another baby on the way! One of our siblings are expecting again! The baby is due in July! Which means our Addison and the new baby will be about four months apart. I don't want to tell you who in case they (our brother and sister) want to share it with you. Sorry to all of my sister-in-laws and sister, don't be upset if anyone ask if you're expecting! This will round Neil and I out to 11 nieces and nephews!

Happy 1st Birthday Elena!!!

Neil and I had a very important event to attend in Brunswick this weekend! Our niece Elena turned 1 on Saturday and had a big birthday bash that Uncle Neil and I couldn't miss! I know...our little girl is growing up too fast! I can't believe that the little baby girl (who I thought was going to be a little boy) who I held a year ago in my arms is a walking, talking, independent, on the go...one year old!

I love her facial expression here when she sees her cake!

She really wasn't interested in eating too much of the cake. She just enjoyed smushing it in her hands and then dropping it on the floor. Uncle Neil did a great job taking pictures!

We love our nieces and nephews very much! They are a huge part of our lives! I have to admit that I would claim them as my own any day! The best part of being an aunt and uncle is we get to spoil them to pieces and we enjoy being the "cool" aunt and uncle for as long as we can. I can't wait for Addison to be here to meet all her cousins, aunts and uncles, and of course grandparents!

Happy Birthday, Elena! We sure do love you!!!

Christmas

Here are just a few pictures from Christmas! We started celebrating Christmas in Statesboro, just Neil and I. Then we went to Willacoochee to enjoy Neil's family. Here is a picture of Neil's parents along with our nieces and nephews. I can't believe how much they are growing!!! After Willacoochee, we went to Brunswick to celebrate Christmas with my family. I took a lot of pictures, but I get tired of waiting for them to upload, so here are a few...

My parents got Neil and I are pack n' play. It was fairly easy to set up, but taking it down is another story. We brought it home and set it up in our room. Now all we need is Addison!

All the men in my famiy got diapers for Christmas! It's funny that we get so excited about a box of diapers!

This is me with my nephew, Ryan, and my niece, Katelyn. They were patiently waiting for their turn to open up presents!
Here is my niece, Elena. This was her first Christmas! Isn't she a cutie! I'm pretty sure she had a wonderful time!
Every year I get a little sad after Christmas. It is my favorite time of the year. I love Christmas trees, decorations, songs and stories, hot chocolate, shopping, bonfires, hayrides, presents, and much more. I especially love Christmas because it is a time for Neil and I to leave all our stressors (work, school, bills, etc.) at home and enjoy both of our families for a few days! We only get to spend so much time with our families and Christmas is when we get to spend the most time with everyone! I'm anxiously awaiting for Christmas 2009!
