Eli Wesley Wilkerson

He is HERE!

Eli Wesley Wilkerson
February 16, 2012
12:42 PM
6 pounds 13 ounces
19 1/2 inches

At exactly 38 weeks, our bundle of pure joy came! My water broke at 2:30 on Thursday morning and we got to hold him right after 12:42 PM (just after Neil hurriedly ate lunch because things went faster than original thought. We are home enjoying our two children and learning how to juggle two kids! Addison thinks he is great, but for the most part is very entertained with her grandparents being here and uncles, aunts, cousins, and lots of friends visiting. We'll see what she thinks when we try to get back to a regular routine!

Happy Birthday to our sweet boy! We love you so much!!!

Uggghhh!

I normally try to be upbeat with my blogs...not too much complaining, when in reality sometimes life is just a little too much to deal with! So here is one of those complaining blogs! I went back to the doctor on Friday and I have dilated to 1 cm!!! The doctor was quite shocked that in 2 days, I dilated. She said he looks like he'll be here before we know it, but then after every exciting comment she would make about him coming soon...she had to always back it up with a BUT it's alright if he doesn't come for another 2 weeks.

I'm at the point where I dread bed time because I toss and turn all night because I can't get comfortable or thinking maybe I need to go to the bathroom. Nausea still gets me, but I am in love with Zofran. I didn't think it really worked in the 1st trimester, but it sure has helped the last 4 days! I obviously have been unaffected in regards to weight gain by the nausea though, because I gained 2 more pounds in 2 days making a grand total of 27 pounds gained for this pregnancy. I have 6 more to go to get up to the same weight I gained with Addison.

Lots of people have commented on how am I still at work? or at the store? or walking around? My mother always would have a comment for this...pregnancy is not a sickness, it's a fact of life. I just simply smile and say he's coming soon. I'm still alive; eating, working, being a wife and mother, and somewhat sleeping until baby Eli gets here...just don't ask how I'm doing...I'm almost 37 weeks pregnant...let's just say I'm ready to hold my sweet baby in my arms and introduce him to his big sister (who is such a sweet and compassionate little girl who has tried really hard to help mommy feel "all better")!

Count DOWN!

We are on the countdown around here until Eli comes! I am not officially due until February 29th, but our doctor is ready to induce at 38 weeks, which is right around February 15th! I'm hoping to go anytime after February 16th, so I can finish my week of work and start leave on our long weekend break from work! Which is 14 days from now and only 10 work days! We'll see how well everything works out!

I went yesterday with a lot of pressure and some other issues to the doctor. I was checked and had about a million tests ran and everything is fine. Eli has sat extremely low since week 15. Sounds great for easy delivery, not so great to carry around. It's comforting to know that the "end" is in sight! My nausea came back yesterday. I can only compare it to the beginning of pregnancy, but thank goodness I haven't had to throw up. Just feel yucky and along with the pressure, I decided to take a day off from work to rest, which I have never done before! I only miss work if I can not get out of the bathroom or if Addison is so sick she can't go to daycare! Let's just say, I'm praying for the next two weeks to pass quickly!

Oh and did I mention that my husband had surgery last Monday and he is still working his way through recovering. I'm glad that he got everything done before the baby, but I'm ready for him to be back to 100%, so that we don't act like an 80 year old couple together and maybe Addison can have a little more fun!

Check back soon...Eli will be here before we know it!
